About Karaktera

Hey there! 👋 My name is Engin Arslan. I am a Gemini rising Scorpio, and the founder of Karaktera. With Karaktera you can choose from a selection of designs that are related to astrology and other personality metrics like Enneagram, customize it to your liking and have it printed on your favorite products.

One of the first places I have ever visited outside of my home country was Italy. I remember visiting the city of Siena as part of that trip. I was fascinated by the vibrant dynamic that encompassed this medieval city. It is separated into distinct wards that all have their coat of arms, festivities, and patron saints. Twice a year these wards would fiercely compete at a major horse race. It is a spectacular event that attracts a lot of tourists. Here we have the people of the same city, that is probably pretty similar for the most part, that was able to create this rich group dynamic among themselves thanks to this abstract categorization based on their wards.

To me, astrology or other personality metrics serve a similar purpose. It is an attempt at categorizing different character types and by doing so understanding this incredibly complex thing that we call human nature. At best it is fun, entertaining and somehow valuable like the rivalry of the wards of Siena, at worst it is useless. I believe the good in it. I am happy to be part of this supposedly intellectually curious, communicative, and restless clan of Geminis with a rising Scorpio that should give depth and intensity to my emotional life. It is like having a real-life D&D character sheet. How awesome is that? I would love to be able to tell the story of this. That's why I have built Karaktera.
